WHAT IMPLANTS WE USE?
We use implant materials by Straumann (Switzerland), which are recognised world-wide. In particular, the Straumann BLT (Bone Level Implant), a novelty from this company, closely matches the anatomy of the teeth. Ultra-thin Straumann implants have a diameter of only 2.9 mm. The implants are made of biocompatible materials, which take in almost 100% of the cases from 3 weeks to 6 months.
This procedure is performed under local anesthesia. Having healed, the implant serves as a support for future orthodontic appliance (crown, bridge or full denture). Position of the implant is determined by a computer programme based on CT (3D x-ray of the skull) as well as by a wax simulation of the lost teeth. On a plaster model of the patient, an individual shape of the future tooth is created of wax; for maximum chewing efficiency – in the lateral parts of the teeth, and for aesthetics – on the front teeth.
CONDITIONS OF PLACEMENT
● Sufficient volume, thickness and bone height to ensure stability and appropriate pressure on the implant.
● Sufficient amount of soft tissues
Often before the placement of implant, doctors perform bone grafting – a microsurgery for augmentation/ reparation of bone tissue.
SOFT TISSUE SURGERY
Depending on the situation, these procedures can be directed at recovery (restructuring, increasing the volume) or amputation of the lost tissues. We conduct such procedures under a microscope, which speeds up the healing process and reduces the traumatism of the operation. Using the microscope in dental surgery, we work with micro-surgical instruments and thin suture materials. Postsurgical recovery lasts from 7-10 days to 6-8 weeks (depending on particular circumstances).
